ABOUT BODY ICE JEWELRY
Body Ice Jewelry is an art studio located near the great Hudson River in the Mid-Hudson Valley, at Pleasant Valley, New York. Our art studio is surrounded by beautiful rolling hills, dairy farms and the beautiful Hudson River just north of New York City. Body Ice has been in business since 2007. But don’t let that fool you, we have been creating, crafting and enjoying jewelry making as a hobby way before then.
Our jewelry is hand created by a mother and daughter team of jewelry artisans. We started selling “body ice” at local shows and through our website at www.bodyice.etsy.com. Because we have had so many positive experiences with our customers, friends and relatives who, over the last three years have encouraged us, we continue to create our many different and unique jewelry pieces. Our success has allowed us to expand to our own website here at www.bodyice.net and turn our hobby into a full time business. We can now say we not only have our physical art studio in Pleasant Valley, New York, but we have an on-line art studio for us to share with the world.
Designing and creating this new website has been a challenging task and a huge learning curve. I’m sure this website will continue to evolve as we learn. Any comments or suggestions you may have would be welcomed. So, please feel free to contact us and say hello.
THE ARTISANS
Denielle Bernstein: Ever since Denielle was a little girl, she has been involved in making jewelry of some kind. Whether it be stringing plastic beads on elastic, making friendship bracelets to share with her friends and sewing beads into the beautiful jewelry you see today, she has always loved to create jewelry. Denielle will deny that she has any artistic talent, but the ideas she comes up with and combinations of colors and textures will evidence the fact that she has inherited her artistic abilities from her ancestors. She is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University where she has earned a degree in the baking and pastry arts. The cakes and pastries that she creates are absolutely beautiful! She even makes beautiful clay roses to incorporate into our jewelry!
Cheryl LeFever: Cheryl has always been creating something ever since she could hold a crayon. She has inherited her artistic talents from her father, Lawrence Tracy, who also loved creating things with his own hands. Crafting and art are in Cheryl’s blood and she is most happy when designing a new piece of jewelry from wire or visiting a museum, art collection or viewing another artist’s work. Getting a new tutorial from another artisan and leaning new techniques are the highlight of Cheryl’s day. She is always thinking about how to incorporate another new idea into a unique piece of jewelry. Cheryl is a graduate of Marist College with a paralegal degree. She works for a local law firm in Poughkeepsie, New York. However, she considers herself an artist.
